The program’s role is to provide the opportunity for the largest possible number of Muslims to perform Hajj and Omrah to the fullest extent, and to work on enriching and enhancing their experience. This is through preparing the Two Holy Mosques, achieving Islam’s universal message, preparing tourist and cultural sites, and providing the best services before, during and after their visit to Mecca and Medina Munawara and the holy sites. The role also includes reflecting the Kingdom’s honorable and civilized image in serving the Two Holy Mosques and pilgrims.
The Pilgrim Experience Program was launched in 2019 as an extension of the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques by the kings of this country, since the founder’s era, may God rest his soul.
The program aims to facilitate hosting the pilgrims of the Two Holy Mosques, and providing them with the best services, while enriching their religious and cultural experience. At the beginning of the program a study involving thousands of Muslims was conducted around the world, which contributed to defining expectations and learning pilgrims’ needs.
In order to achieve a distinguished spiritual experience for the Hajj and Omrah pilgrims, the program designed their journey around seven main points of contact, starting with the point before arrival, arrival and departure, followed by transportation, visiting the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites, performing the ritual in health and safety, and finally reaching the two points of the Kingdom’s hospitality and discovery.
In the previous stage, the program has scored many achievements in collaboration with the related entities in the sector, most notably making e-visas available for Hajj and Omrah pilgrims from all countries and the extension of the Omrah season, in addition to many technical achievements, including the launch of initiatives such as “Eyab”, “Smart Hajj” and “Pilgrimage without a Bag”, and finally comprehensive health insurance.
In the next stage, the program aims to provide a transformative spiritual experience for the pilgrims by facilitating and simplifying procedures for hosting more pilgrims and preparing Islamic historical sites in a manner that ensures enriching the religious and cultural activities for Hajj and Omrah pilgrims, as well as achieving integration between all parties to improve the system of services provided through 16 priority paths through which we seek to enable 30 million pilgrims to experience a transformative faith experience (from idea to memory).

Development of 40 Islamic historical sites and mosques through carrying out preparatory campaigns, protect and prevent demolition and obliteration of Islamic monuments, and launch the initiative to rehabilitate Jabal al-Nour and Jabal Thawr.
Establishing an electronic training platform (Wefadah) to train and qualify workers who servs the pilgrim, the platform aims to enhance the culture of hospitality and welcoming among workers in the sector of Hajj and Umrah.
